 Week 2.
Friday 9th July to Thursday 15th July.
Friday 9th July.
Day 8. After heading south away from the Nord Cap, Alex went
as far as Inari in Finland. Click here

Saturday 10th July.
Day 9. A long day today. Alex has covered about 400
miles from Inari to Raahe which is just south of Oulu.

Sunday 11th July.
Day 10. Tonight Alex is in Virrat, just north of Tempere.
He is staying in a hostel, in a large clean room which he
describes as being "first class". He has covered 250 miles
today with some light rain along the way. Click here for report and pictures.
Monday 12th July.
Day 11. Jyvaskyla is Alex's home for the night.
Tomorrow (Tuesday) will see him arrive in Helsinki where he will
spend a few days. Click here for report and pictures.
Tuesday 13th July.
Day 12. Alex is in Helsinki, getting to know the city and
taking it easy for a day or two. He has booked a ferry to
Tallinn on Thursday and has pre-booked into a hotel there too.
He is planning to travel to St Petersburg by train on Saturday.

Wednesday 14th
July. Day 13. Today is a rest day
for Alex before taking the ferry to Tallinn tomorrow. He has

Thursday 15th July.
Day 14. Alex leaves Helsinki today
by ferry to Tallinn in Estonia, where he will be based for the
