 My
bike is a BMW R1150RT which is in standard trim. Apart from
top-box and panniers, the only extra fitted is a Garmin GPS unit.
The only thing I did before setting out was to have new tyres
fitted, the rest is left to BMWs' reputation for reliability.
I have a
picture here of the bike taken on a
run to Donegal to test how it would feel loaded up on the trip.
This
picture was taken at Aidan's house two
weeks before I set off, when Jeff and I went down to visit.
