 Day
9. Saturday 10th July. Distance 400 miles.
Up at 8.30am, showered and shaved and down
to a good breakfast. The two English chaps had long gone
as they had quite a rip to get through today. There was a
slight drizzle as I left Inari but things dried up fairly
quickly. Good roads ahead but some reindeer appeared from
time to time to slow things down. Reached 66degrees 33mins
again and got a better picture this time. Passed Santa
land but resisted the temptation to call in and visit the big
man. Reached Rovaniemi about 2pm and refuelled. Also
had a good salad and coffee with strange bread. Then onto
Kemi, Oulu and Raahe for an overnight stop at another cabin
(30Euros).
Midge and mosquito bites are beginning to
itch so I will call at a supermarket I noticed on the way into
town. Then south again tomorrow.
