 Day
5. Tuesday 6th July. Distance 250 miles.
Awoke at 8am to heavy rain outside. As the
ground was very soft I soon moved my bike to solid ground before
loading up and heading off for some breakfast. Had a very good
healthy breakfast at Kronstrand og Overnatting. Stopped at the
Artic Circle Centre at about 10.30 and did the touristy things.
Photos and postcards home to loved ones and others. Still very
wet as I stopped for fuel at Fauske. I reported home to HQ on my
progress. It still keep raining but cleared up around 2pm. Rode
through Krakmotenden and Sjuendevasstinden. Good roads here but
lots of traffic, caravans and campers etc. I caught the ferry at
Sharberget and rode a fantastic road with tunnels and twisties
all the way to Narvik. Found a reasonably priced Hotel in the
town centre, (£50 including breakfast). Got cleaned up and made
my way to try out a local dish. Reindeer steak with potatoes and
veg, washed down with a Sprite. North to Alta tomorrow I hope.
