 Day
7. Thursday 8th July Distance 113 miles.
Didn't get up till nine this morning as I
didn't have far to go. On the road for 10am stopping for photos
now and again. Found a good room at Skarsvag for
350Krone(£30). Unloaded my gear and made my way to Nordkapp.
Very barren landscape here, unimaginable in winter. Arrived at
Nordkapp at 1pm and paid 190Krone (£16) for the pleasure of
getting in. Very busy spot with hordes of people about. Bought
the cards and wrote on them as I munched a lovely salad bap
washed down with warm strong coffee. Posted the cards. Sorry
about your card it must have go lost in the post. Back into the
shops for more stuff. I almost forgot the tee-shirt Out to the
monument for the necessary photos and plenty of help to take
these. Large cruise ship passed under the cliffs and sounded
it's foghorn. Chatted to other bikers including two lads from
Poland. Very good English and had a long conversation with them.
Then back to Skarsvag for a walkabout then bed for a few hours.
Got up at midnight in the bright daylight and decided to wash my
bike. Did this to the sound of music coming from a local hotel
down the road. Back to bed at 1.30am.
